The spirits They are alcoholic beverages intended for human consumption that possess specific organoleptic characteristics and a minimum alcoholic strength of 15% vol. They are obtained through the distillation of raw materials of agricultural origin (such as grains, fruits or cereals) that have previously undergone a fermentation process.

Lo distilled spirits They are the product resulting from this physicochemical process where heat is applied to separate and concentrate the alcohol, eliminating water and other excess components. Although both terms are often used synonymously, European regulations define the categories of spirits based on their production method and agricultural origin.
